Ira Mireya Rodríguez Díaz, Gerente del Programa de Educación Especial

Venezuelan teacher, violinist and music educator. With 24 years of experience as a trainer at El Sistema, working as a Violin teacher at the Simón Bolívar Music Conservatory, a workshop and sectionalist for children’s, youth and regional orchestras, a Musical Initiation teacher in the Special Education Program, a teacher of the New Members Program , professor of the Academic Training Program and as coordinator of Academic Management.

Extending her work in the university environment, as a professor and tutor of graduate projects at the National Experimental University of the Arts, visiting professor of the postgraduate degree in Music Therapy at the University of Los Andes and as an advisor for graduate work in the postgraduate degree in Education of the Andres Bello Catholic University.
She started in El Sistema at the age of 7, in the state of Nueva Esparta, with professors Eddy Marcano, Argimira Oliveros and Alberto Valderrama Patiño, there she was part of the State Children’s and Youth Symphony Orchestra.

Later, at the age of 11, he moved to Caracas to continue his musical studies at the Simón Bolívar Conservatory of Music and at the Latin American Violin Academy with maestro Sergio Celis, forming part of the Young Strings Orchestra Arcos de Venezuela and the Miranda State Symphony Orchestra.

In 1998, she graduated from the University Institute of Musical Studies with a Bachelor’s degree in Music, a mention in Musical Education, a Cum Laude mention, and in 2005, she graduated from the Andrés Bello Catholic University with a Master’s degree in Education, a mention in Learning Processes. , mention Summa Cum Laude.

In 2014, she was trained as a Certified Infant Massage Instructor endorsed by the Venezuelan Association of Infant Massage and the International Association of Infant Massage. In 2017, she obtained the postgraduate degree of Specialist in Music Therapy from the Universidad de Los Andes.

Throughout her career, she has participated in different courses in the area of ​​Education, Special Education and Music both inside and outside the country, with institutions such as Cecodap, Unicef, Fladem, among others. As well as master classes and seminars, receiving chairs with prominent national and international teachers such as: José Francisco del Castillo, Roberto Valdez, Pablo Vásquez, Gerónimo Istúriz, Felicita Höffmeister, Markus Daünert, Margareth Pardee, Francisco Caban, Claudio González, Luis Miguel González, as well as Chamber Music with the Ríos Reyna Quartet, among others.

She currently works as manager of the Special Education Program and teacher of the Academic Training Program of El Sistema, Violin teacher at the Simón Bolívar Conservatory of Music and as a music therapist in private practice.
